Here's a visual message that can be made from large cards resting upon a stand.
At The Cross
Effect: The performer displays a sheet of paper with the word, ‘life’ written upon it in large letters. The letters are seen to be dirty, with apparent stains and smudges. The paper is folded and torn into three pieces. One piece is set aside, while the remaining pieces are unfolded and laid out. As the letters are placed into view, the performer shares a brief word about each letter. When all the pieces have been laid out they are seen to spell the word, life. This time, the letters are free of stains. The audience notices that the performer still holds one remaining piece that was not used in the formation of the word. This piece is turned over to reveal the word, ‘sin’ written upon it in bold letters.
“This piece has no place in this new life”, states the performer. “Where does it belong?”, he or she ask. Unfolding the remaining piece previously set aside, it is seen to be a cross. “On the cross, where our nature of sin was placed in the body of Jesus Christ”. This ‘sin piece’ is now placed upon the cross.
